Dolly Parton is under attack online after a recent publication accused the “9 to 5” singer of pushing a false gospel.

The Federalist, which has previously taken aim at artists like Taylor Swift, published an article critical of Parton’s inclusive stance on LGBTQ+ rights, which she has grounded in her Christian faith.

Many have pointed out The Federalist’s history of inflammatory rhetoric and its tendency to target strong, independent women. This latest criticism seems to follow a similar pattern, attempting to belittle Parton’s values and beliefs.

Similarly, in the same week that Parton mentioned her upbringing in church, The Advocate (a large circulation magazine) called her an “LGBTQ+ icon.” And her rhinestone-studded flashy outfits, big hair, and infamous chest have inspired many a drag queen. That’s not her fault, but she does seem to indulge it.”
Fans of Parton saw the way that the article attacked the singer, and revolted. Shauna said, “they came for Dolly. we ride at dawn,” ready to go into battle for her.

These are just two examples among thousands of fans standing by Parton, and condemning The Federalist. While the article did try to defame Dolly, it clearly did the opposite, only strengthening her fans support more.
