She and her husband, Whitaker, owned and operated Cake Box Bakery for 12 years. She was born in Springfield, lived for 47 years, and was communicant of St.

He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War and a member of Grey Ghost Association. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Janet Serra. Thomas P. Ahern Jr. SOUTH HADLEY Thomas P. Ahern 80, of this town, died Sunday at Holyoke Hospital. He was a supervisor at the former Uniroyal Tire Co.

of Chicopee for 40 years, and retired in 1980. Born in Springfield, he graduated from the former Technical High School and lived in this town for 50 years. He was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church. An Army Air Forces veteran of World War II, he was a sergeant glider mechanic in the 303rd Troop Carrier Squadron of the 442nd Troop Carrier Group.

He served in the Normandy, Northern and Southern France, Rhineland, Germany and Central Europe campaigns in 1944-45. He received the Distinguished Unit Badge, the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon and a Victory Medal. He leaves his wife, the former Alice M. Ryan; three sons, Robert J. of Granby and Jeffrey T.
