of Chicopee for 40 years, and retired in 1980. Born in Springfield, he graduated from the former Technical High School and lived in this town for 50 years. He was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church. An Army Air Forces veteran of World War II, he was a sergeant glider mechanic in the 303rd Troop Carrier Squadron of the 442nd Troop Carrier Group.
He served in the Normandy, Northern and Southern France, Rhineland, Germany and Central Europe campaigns in 1944-45. He received the Distinguished Unit Badge, the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon and a Victory Medal. He leaves his wife, the former Alice M.
